World Starbucks

Near Madison Square Park in NYC (featured often, I'm sure, on Law & Order), Starbucks was setting up a kind of outdoors funky mega-design of thousands of cups of coffee. I think they were making a commercial, but they were also giving away free coffee with one's pledge to buy (or actually purchase?) a thermos or some such thing. All in the name of eco-awareness. Well, I buy their spiel completely because I like coffee. As I have often said before, Starbucks may be surely taking over the world, but theirs is a pleasant imperialism. I accept their empire.

Below I tried to capture a reflected image of the Empire State Building. Dunno. Didn't quite turn out. Still, kinda groovy.

I am the opposite -- not a Starbucks fan, and don't see the pleasantry in their imperialism -- however I must say, I love these!

I believe (seriously) that Starbucks would likely buy some of these from you. Contact me if you need legal representation.

PS -- seriously nice photos, especially the first one and the Empire State Building one.

It feels odd to me to comment on the actual photographs here and not just feed the fire of what will eventually be birthed as a major let-down of a face to face meeting with Andy D., but these are suuuuuuper. The colors! The pattern! The swirrrrls.

Love. Ing. It.

makes me want a cup of coffee and to grab my camera and get creative. Nicely done.

I'm agreeing with Andy, I regard Starbucks as a necessary evil. it brings coffee to rural wastelands to show a glimpse of things to come, and should be abandoned as soon as small independent artsy coffeehouses spring up.

I really like these photos though.

These are utterly awesome and represent the kind of photographic opportunity that persons of our ilk dream to find, but sadly rarely encounter in our respective locales.

Although, an endless array of pickle jars filled with different colors of brackish water is surely possible for us as well?....

These are amazing! The first one and the Empire State one are wonderful. How come we didn't see any of that kind of cool stuff when we were in NYC?

Now that I can find for you sans problem, yes.
