Stone shadow

I find it interesting how the stone's own contours and coloring create imagery that allow the viewer (or me, at least) to mentally fill in the image of the dress, so to speak, making the dress and girl (Emma, I believe) look more substantial than mere shadow.

Girl of stone in light,
Shadow with butterfly hands,
Were you happy there?

Like S-S, this beautiful photo has also pushed the creative button for me, also in the form of poetry:

All the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I'm trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
You know the night's magic
Seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight
Seems to shine in your blush...
Can I just have one more moondance
with you, my love?

That's just a little something that's been rattling around in my head for awhile now, and this photo sort of crystalized it for me.

wow. i can't say that any of my photos have inspired (or released) two non-ironic non-hip hop faux haiku poems before.

thanks, s-s and amd.

I suppose and vm, and m bublè. If we're going to get all technical about it. Though anyone can readily see my original and creative changes in two punctuation marks.

"Girl of stone in light"

That phrase is haunting to me. Poetic. Beautiful.

Please don't tell me that you borrowed that from Elton John.

And Andy D: At first I was incredibly sheepish about this whole...fiasco...as i shall now call it. but now sheepishness of being a sucker has given way to a healthier indignation in thinking that you a dummy. believe me, i'd use a different word were this not a family-semi-friendly blog.

Bailey thinkn I
wrote Van Morrison's big song,
but I'M the dummy.
Shoooooooooot.....

Truly I loved this photo, as well as S-S's poem, and haunting is the best word for the whole experience.

There, I've said it. And it turns out compliments feel good to give. Who knew, who knew.

And I also need to say, the photo immediately brought Moondance to my mind, a song that has very special meaning for me. So thank you and well done on that front too.

I'm glad, and no, unlike AMD, I try to cite things that aren't original. Also, I once had a nightmare in which I was at an opera and during the last act the orchestra decided to play "candle in the wind." It was truly horrific dream.

This is, however, a really lovely photo.

you live your life,
like a broken mandolin.
Never knowin,
how to tune that dang thing,
when tha strangs get thin...

Timekeeper-I believe you. I do. Truly.

Easy now. Take a deep breath, girl.

IT'S THE COMPUTER, MORON!!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO PRINT ALL 3! Each time I sent the comment it did not "disappear" into the internet tubes like normal. It just sat there. Mocking me. Making me push "Send" again and again and again. You couldn't figure that out? You had to print all of them?

Seems like you like to repeat yourself. And yell at me. I thought I was just being true to you. I'm sorry. My bad.

Yeah, moron.
