Third prize to Timekeeper, Justcurious, and Me: “Unremembered”
Second prize to Justcurious: “Measure twice, cut once.”
And for first prize (drum roll) the new title is:
“Unremembered."
I’m joking. It’s “Irrelevant.” Submitted (with great modesty) by Technoprairie!
Will accept nominations for a day or two or more, then I'm going to permanently change it to "Unremembered." I mean "Irrelevant."
Beloved Friends:
I struggled to come up with a title for this. I was leaning toward calling it "unremembered" when it occurred to me that I've never asked the thousands of you who visit my blog (including the vast majority of you who do not EVER comment) to come up with a good title for it. I will choose the one of my own liking among those offered. (Probably I will choose, ahem, "unremembered.") Make it serious or funny or clever or whatever. But make it somehow fitting. Or not. Whatever.
To avoid accusations of bias or (virtual) nepotism, I promise not to look at the authors of the proposed titles. I will grade them blindly. (No, I won't.)
I wish you well.
ADDITION!!!! I'm tired of thIs blog's name. Photos and Musings. Yaawwwwn. (And good grief, I'd change my url if I knew I wouldn't lose about seventy-six thousand of my readers). No guarantee here that I will change the blog name, but I'm taking suggestions.
Here's one possibility: "Did I just blow your mind with my photos and comments?!?!" Here's another: "The revolution starts here!" And here's another: "Changing the way we view reality--just a little something I do." But I encourage you to submit your own suggestions.
In the meantime, I'm going to change it to what you see above.

I've never commented prior to this because this is the first time I've come across your blog! :-p
I'm pretty uncreative but I guess I would name it "Bittersweetly unremembered."
:)
I would like to suggest "Unremembered."
Or "Sealed Past"
Or "Exit at your own risk"
Or something totally different like "Forgotten". So superior.
MC--
A first time responder on a first view! You're my new hero. (Heroine? I'll check out your blog in a moment.)
I need more entries before I make a choice, of course, but I can say that I like at least half of your title. Just very much.
awwww...timekeeper. you're not making fun of me.
are you sure it's really you?
of your four suggestions, one is fantastic and three are actually pretty good.
I was going to say The Forgotten, but I was trumped.
How about...Once Upon a Time?
Or...Abandon?
jenni.mystery--
both good. thanks.
but...how 'bout "jenni.mystery" for its title. that works, too.
fancy - porte en bois
cynical - measure twice, cut once
even more cynical - your tax dollars at work
brown nose - unremembered
existential - i will not be defined by the vegetable world
justcurious--
my blog is finished. thanks.
all five suggestions are the best suggestions ever offered. for any game. your entry was the peak of the blog, and everything else will be denoument. (sp?)
and a disappointing one at that.
a fading echo. a quiet ripple moving outward. smoke into the wind. my memory after ten minutes.
you get the idea. i'm a broken man, and my favorite hobby has been broken by you.
thanks so much.
I like the absence of cauliflower, but perhaps it might be expressed in a more stuffy and possibly pretentious way without excess of exclamation? This could be "The Cauliflower [expurgated]" or "Far from the madding cauliflower."
The photo title I have no creative suggestions for.
A question about the photo: Is it a door or a window? Or none of the above? I think that makes a difference in the picture title.
dear shinigami-sidhe (or "sh-s" from now on):
Your suggestions are excellent. My inclination (but not my iron-clad principle) is that direct is better. I want EVERYONE to understand where I stand. And after we've defeated the enemy, I can tone it down some.
But I feel you, okay?
dear mmlstd--
I can't tell whether your question is one of mere identity or a deeper one of metaphysics. Who am "I" to know what a door is. My only hint is this: I initially thought it was one thing, then I changed my mind. I'll let you decide. You basically have as much information about it as I do. Though I was there, I didn't knock and find out.
Though I can never reach the heights of justcurious, here is my humble contribution for the picture.
"Irrelevant"
And I think it is a window.
As to your blog title, I submit: "Juxtaposition"
or "EB&C" (Eyeballs, Bees, & Clouds, of course!)
though I really like "Far from the madding califlower".
Technoprairie--
Hey, those suggestions are nothing to sneeze at. They're great. I love "irrelevant"! I toyed with (and am still toying with) the possibility of making that the title of my blog!
I must admit that I was quite thrown for a loop when you mentioned justcurious by (faux) name. on some blogs the respondents have more fun engaging one another than the blogger, and the blogger kind of steps back and watches it unfold. i think the readers of this blog are more like baptists in a liquor store: no one uses their real names, and apparently it's so shameful to be here that the tacit agreement between readers is to look down and pretend you don't see anyone else.
you're kidding me?! even with that bribe? i just hope i didn't pay a higher entrance fee than anyone else.
the bribe was insulting, frankly. if you want to be in the big show, you gots to show me the big dough.
do you remember the story about dustin hoffmann and jon voigt in "midnight cowboy"? they gave the year's best two performances by far, but they split the vote at oscar time and john wayne (bless him) won for some pro-vietnman war movie.
now i'm not saying that technoprairie is john wayne. nor am i saying that she seeks to revive the vietnam war. not at all. i'm just saying your many entries--all excellent, mind you--sort of worked against you. as a collective group your answer was one of best posts i've ever had as measured by the international committee of postal standards.
except for the one about the eyeballness of it all. that was pretty good, too.
and my new blog name is a subtle shout out to that post, see? so you're a winner, too.
okay?
Oh! Oh! (Screams of joy and jumping up from my seat and rushing up to the stage to receive my award).
Thanks so much! I am honored and deeply blessed by the selection of my title. I'd like to thank my wonderful husband and supportive family for standing with me and helping me along during my journey in life. I shall try in the future to continue to put out the kind of work that is now expected by you. Thanks again for this unexpected honor!
(Tears in eyes as I wave to all my wellwishers)
Tears in YOUR eyes?!
You mean tears in OUR eyes!
Just lovely, and well-deserved.
