Nice reflection in the guitar.
thanks, bro.
it's often surprising to me the kinds of shots that people like.
If anything, I am impressed you got the shot and he didn't beat you up.
i gave him a couple of bucks and asked him whether i could take his picture.
And why do I like it? Good question. I suppose part of it is that it is the kind of shot I would like to take, but probably wouldn't take because I would be self-conscious about taking a stranger's pic.
Also because, in my very ill-defined photo philosophy, one of the things I strive for is the capturing of a unique moment, and this strikes me as such a moment. It also is very evocative of place.
Smart man, with the couple of bucks.
The glare in his eyes is what makes this special. The fact that he is still playing the guitar is also nice. I assume by combining the glare and the song that he is playing a Johnny Cash tune about killing a man.
you won't believe this, but i almost used the caption "i shot a man in memphis."
really really.
