chiaroscuro

Many of my pictures aim at dramatic contrasts of light and dark. Something about it moves me and stirs my imagination. I seek this effect principally with my photo portraits, but I have chosen not to show these pictures on this blog.

What is the meaning of your title?

Chiaroscuro (sp?) is the art term for sharp contrasts of light and dark, often with figures partly in the light and partly out. Caravaggio (17th century??) was a master of it. I love his work.
